vinyl.sydney is our site to let you know about our record shop which is open, by appointment only, so please ph/email beforehand.
It is the selling-arm of Ron's Records, which is focused on buying vinyl records from the public
We have set up our shop "off-street" this way to avoid paying high rents and electricity charges and having to deal with bad landlords when having a normal shop on the public street, which means we can sell records at a reasonable price, as opposed to what street shops have to sell their records for in order to pay these charges and draw a wage for themselves and staff, which tend to be seemingly over-priced and even ridiculous in many cases.
It's really NOT the fault of the owners though. They are forced to either sell LOTS of low priced records (which they can;t guarantee) or make their stock prices high so they have a chance to cover the exorbitant costs, as mentioned above. There's lots of chatter about this upward trend in store prices that I hear among collectors that I associate with. Complaints and frustration at unaffordability, are the order of the day, as far as I can gauge.
Our aim was to save money on costs and it just turned out that, after we did the maths, we found that we can sell for less with the savings we make. When we pass savings on, it's a better deal for customers + personalised service from a seller with 20 years experience.
We have about 5000 albums and 2000 7" singles and EP's in stock. All hand picked.
We stock rock, jazz, funk, folk, reggae, blues, psych etc..
Prices start at $8.00 each.
We accept credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Best to phone for appointment, if possible. 0401093664.
